A flock of sea gulls had bedded down in a pasture up on the mountain - they scattered every time I shut my car door

These lava rock walls, which began to take shape with thousands of hours of labor, beginning in the 15th century, are beautifully kept up and form pastures that sprawl over all the island.

When nestled down in the valleys between the mountains on the island, it's easy to forget that it's an island, until we see this.

we spend a LOT of time on this boardwalk by the sea!  the view is simply breathtaking!
